Subject: Proposal for Collaboration and Co-Development in 22-Bit Visual Binary Computing, Scholarship Pathways, and Research University Partnerships
Dear Gates Foundation Team,
Trackpad Systems Inc. respectfully submits this proposal for collaboration and co-development with The Gates Foundation in the areas of advanced computing education, research university partnerships, scholarship support, and next-generation interface systems.
Bill Gates’s widely cited framing of the digital economy in Business @ the Speed of Thought remains deeply relevant to the future of technology and social development. In that spirit, Trackpad Systems Inc. is building tools that aim to move information, learning, and decision-making with greater clarity, speed, and accountability. We believe this makes Trackpad a natural candidate for exploratory collaboration around education, research, and public-benefit innovation.
Trackpad platform
Trackpad Systems Inc. develops a 22-bit visual binary hardware and software ecosystem intended to translate information into compact, legible, and governed visual structures. The goal is to create a computing and communication standard that can be used across edge devices, cloud workflows, and research environments.
Our 22-bit visual binary stack is designed to support:
Structured interface design.
Secure symbolic communication.
Portable educational workflows.
Research and demonstration environments.
Future cloud-computing standards that are more visually legible and easier to teach.
We see this as a platform for meaningful development, not merely a brand exercise. The value lies in making computation more understandable, more teachable, and more adaptable across institutions.
Scholarship proposal
Trackpad proposes a scholarship scheme for 22-bit visual binary computing to move across colleges and universities as a distributed research and learning initiative. The purpose would be to support students, researchers, and faculty members working on visual coding, secure computing, interface innovation, EEG-related data interpretation, and ethical AI systems.
This scholarship pathway could include:
Undergraduate and graduate awards.
Research assistantships.
Visiting scholar placements.
Inter-institutional demonstration grants.
Applied research support for prototype development.
The long-term objective is to create a recognizable educational standard around 22-bit visual binary computing that can travel across institutions and contribute to a new cloud-computing vocabulary.
Research university value
Trackpad Systems Inc. sees strong value in working with research universities because they provide the rigour, credibility, and interdisciplinary context needed to turn promising ideas into meaningful systems. In particular, we are interested in environments where engineering, cognitive science, design, and applied computing can meet.
Our research interests include EEG technology, secure communications, visual binary systems, and the translation of biological or human-signal data into structured digital forms. We believe universities can help validate methods, test assumptions, and support responsible development.
Microsoft Edge comparison
Trackpad shares with Microsoft Edge the aim of serving as a practical, modern interface layer between the user and the digital ecosystem. Like a browser or edge platform, Trackpad is intended to be a gateway: a way to present, structure, and govern information at the point where users interact with computation.
Where appropriate, Trackpad would be willing to align with standard end-user licensing and acceptable-use principles similar to those found in major software ecosystems. This would help establish user trust, legal clarity, and consistent expectations around deployment and use.
Social benefit
The broader value of Trackpad is its potential to help build more meaningful systems for learning, communication, and research. By pairing visual binary computing with scholarship support and university collaboration, we hope to contribute to a more capable and equitable digital future.
We believe this can also create public-interest value in:
Education access.
Research reproducibility.
Ethical computing.
AI governance.
Structured digital literacy.
Request
We respectfully ask The Gates Foundation to consider:
Reviewing Trackpad Systems Inc. as a potential collaboration partner.
Supporting a scholarship concept for 22-bit visual binary computing.
Connecting us with research university stakeholders.
Sharing this proposal with interested partners in education, computing, and public-benefit technology.
We would be especially grateful if this proposal could be forwarded for consideration to Mr. Warren Buffett through appropriate channels. While the exact attribution of the phrase “The fortune is in the follow-up” is not confirmed in the sources I found, the spirit of persistence and responsible follow-through is one we strongly support.
Thank you for your consideration. We would welcome the opportunity to present Trackpad Systems Inc. in more detail and discuss how our 22-bit visual binary approach may align with your philanthropic and educational priorities.
Yours sincerely,
Graeme T. Kilshaw
Chief Technology Officer
Trackpad Systems Inc.
